A Pasta Making Date

We have a Valentines Day ritual - we never go to a restaurant. Instead, we stay home, open some good wine and tackle fun kitchen projects

Jack and I have a Valentines Day ritual that involves never going to a restaurant. We love to stay home, pop open some good wine and tackle a special kitchen project – the messier the better. Check out our pasta-date story (and recipe!) on CamilleStyles.com.

(And special thanks to Kate LeSueur for being the 3rd wheel on our little date while capturing these gorgeous photos!)

While it is nice to get out of the house, I think cooking date nights are the best. Especially during Winter!

I love this article so much! I also love that you and Jack’s Valentines Day tradition involves not going to a restaurant; but rather, you guys spend quality time together cooking! That’s such a unique and adorable date/Valentines Day tradition idea. Thanks for sharing such a personal, sentimental story with all of us readers!

I love this so much!!! And I’m so envious of your Kitchenaid. I had originally wanted that color but couldn’t get it. (I was using discounts and a coupon at Kohls so I was limited by that.) Maybe one day I’ll gift mine to someone else and finally get that color. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Ha, I love the color too – we got it years and years ago and it’s somehow looked good in every kitchen we’ve lived in 🙂

My husband and I started an informal “pasta sunday” tradition last month. We made your pasta yesterday and it was amazing. As we were eating it I kept saying “I can’t believe we made this” – and I’m no stranger to cooking and baking.

Thanks for the great recipe! The “sauce” comes together super quickly. I sauteed some minced garlic with the pine nuts and a bag of baby spinach. I mixed in a bit of ricotta we had wallowing in the fridge with a smidgen of pasta water. Dinner (minus the pasta making) literally took 7 minutes. <3

ooh, pasta sunday sounds like a delicious tradition! I’m so glad you liked the recipe – whenever I go through the trouble to make pasta I love to keep the “sauce” really simple and easy 🙂

Staying at home while making a delicious meal with your significant other is a great way to spend Valentine’s day. Eating out can be stressful and expensive..Plus, the food tastes better when it’s made with love. <3

So fun! We are also planning on staying home on Valentines Day – cheese fondue and chocolate fondue with ice cream! Homemade pasta is the best though!

Fun! We’ve done the same thing on Valentine’s Day, although our mess usually involves some sort of elaborate chocolate dessert! So much more fun than going out to eat and dealing with all the restaurant craziness.
