This blackberry cobbler recipe is a delicious, easy summer dessert! It's crisp and golden brown around the edges, soft in the middle, and packed with juicy blackberries. Fresh and frozen berries both work well here—no need to thaw the frozen ones before using.

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
¾ cup cane sugar, plus more for sprinkling
1½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon sea salt
1 cup milk
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, plus more for the baking dish
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Heaping 2 cups blackberries
Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8x8-inch or similar baking dish.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla and whisk until well combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the blackberries evenly on top, then sprinkle with sugar all over.
Bake for 50 to 65 minutes, or until the edges are deeply golden brown and the center is puffed and lightly set. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm with vanilla ice cream.
