Old Fashioned

Learn how to make an old fashioned! This classic whiskey cocktail recipe is one of our favorites, and it's so simple to make at home.
Ingredients
- ½ teaspoon sugar or ¼ ounce simple syrup
- 3 dashes Angostura Bitters
- 2 ounces bourbon or rye whiskey
- 1 large square ice cube
- Twisted orange peel, for garnish
Instructions
- Combine the sugar and bitters in the bottom of a rocks glass. Use a muddler to muddle and dissolve the sugar. Add the whiskey and the ice and stir well. Let the whiskey chill and the ice dilute for 30 seconds.
- Garnish with a twisted orange peel and serve.
